QUESTIE

Privacy Policy

Effective September 28, 2026

Miniheuristic processes personal information needed to provide Questie and takes steps to protect your privacy.

1. Information we collect and why

  • Account and profile: Email, login identifiers, name, date of birth and profile photo for account management, sign-in and age verification. Our authentication provider handles passwords for email registration.
  • Couple activities: Pairing information, quests, answers, comments, photos, videos, audio, characters and activity records to provide shared features and store memories.
  • Purchases: Purchase history and subscription status to provide and restore paid features. App stores handle payment details such as card numbers.
  • Usage and device information: Device and app identifiers, IP address, access, feature usage and error records, and notification information for service operation, notifications, analytics, advertising and abuse prevention.

You provide information when registering or using features; some information is collected automatically by the device or service. Information for optional features, such as media submissions and AI content generation, is processed when you use those features.

2. Sharing and service providers

Your connected partner can see your profile and the content and activities you share. Information is otherwise processed or disclosed where permitted by law, with your consent, or as needed for the services below.

  • Google: Sign-in, storage, hosting and notifications (Firebase/Google Cloud), usage analytics (Analytics), ads (AdMob), and AI music generation
  • Apple: Apple sign-in, in-app purchases and notifications
  • RevenueCat: Subscription management using user identifiers, purchase history and subscription status
  • xAI: Inputs and reference images needed to generate AI images and videos

Our main app servers are in South Korea. When external services are used, relevant information may be transmitted over the network and processed abroad, including in the United States. See the providers’ privacy information below for their processing and retention practices. You may avoid optional features or contact us to request restriction of processing; related features may then be unavailable.

3. Advertising and permissions

Advertising and analytics services may process device identifiers and usage records. We request consent where required. You can manage available permissions through your device’s privacy and advertising settings.

We request camera, photo, microphone and notification permissions for the relevant features. You can change them in device settings at any time. Features that do not need the declined permission remain available.

4. Retention and deletion

We retain personal information as needed to provide the service and delete it without undue delay when you close your account or its purpose is fulfilled. Records required by law are retained separately for the applicable period and then deleted.

Original photos uploaded with the Couple Pass original-storage feature are kept for three years from upload. Originals cannot be recreated from older compressed photos. Date records deleted while Couple Pass is active, and couple records retained through the unpairing recovery feature, are kept for recovery for up to 90 days. Unpairing immediately blocks in-app access; both original accounts must consent to reconnect and restore. Account deletion also deletes retained records, and a separate permanent-deletion request excludes data from recovery. Shared content and media are deleted after standard unpairing, account deletion, or the applicable retention period. System recovery copies may remain for up to seven days after deletion.

Records used to verify ad rewards and prevent duplicate grants enter automatic deletion after 90 days from creation. Identifiable ad session records are deleted when you delete your account.

5. Your rights

You may request access, correction, deletion, restriction of processing or withdrawal of consent. Use app settings to edit your profile, unpair or delete your account. If you cannot use the app, contact us by email. We will verify your identity and handle your request under applicable law.

See our account deletion guide for instructions.

6. Security and age requirement

We protect information through access restrictions, user authentication and encryption in transit. Questie is intended for people aged 19 or older, and we check age during registration.
